Our test subjects found it simple to put together and believed it was the most elegant looking cot in our round-up. However, it's expensive and you'll need to purchase a mattress separately - and If you're looking for a budget-friendly option, there are more affordable alternatives there.

The Great Little Trading Company Little Wren Cot Bed

If you are looking for additional features to you, then this cot bed might be the best choice. It has a convenient under-bed storage area and teething rails. Additionally, you can alter the height of the base by three different settings, so your child won't be forced to climb out of the bed when they're older.

This cot's only drawback is that it requires a separate mattress which could increase the cost even higher than other models we've reviewed. Its premium aesthetic, ease of assembly and the ability to adapt to your baby's needs are all appealing though which makes it a worthy investment. Our test participants loved the cot and thought it would make a wonderful accessory to any nursery.

The John Lewis Elementary

The John Lewis elementary is a fantastic choice for parents who want an elegant frame that lasts a long time. It's a bit more costly than some of the other options we've seen, but it comes with an adjustable changing table and wardrobe so you can kit out your nursery in one go. It's also easy to assemble, and includes three mattress heights for your baby to grow into. It has teething rails and a drawer that slides neatly underneath so you don't lose valuable floor space.

You'll have to purchase an additional mattress if you would like to use this cot bed.
